My Trip to Oz

Just a few photographs from my time in and around Sydney this year.  No Miscreant activity to report.  I guess I’m getting boring in my old age.  Enjoy.

Where Have We Gone?

So, I was reading my FOX News app this evening and came across this…

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/06/09/san-francisco-pol-wants-flyover-ban-so-blue-angels-cant-strafe-city.html?intcmp=hpbt3

Really?

I loved my time living in Kalifornia.  Yes, yes I did.  You can read about it all here if you care to… https://distinguishedcomments.wordpress.com/

So, OK, I had some issues, but overall, it was a fantastic experience, if you take away all the liberal/progressive crap one has to deal with… but that article is one more thing that I have to say, “takes the cake”?

So this Avalos cat has a history of hating on our military.  So be it.  As they say, it’s a free country (in so many words).  So, hate on, Mr. Avalos.  Hate on the people who volunteer to keep your right to hate on them your option.  You don’t want the Blue Angles “Strafing San Francisco”.  Right.  Maroon.  Who ya gonna call when the Islamic extremists  come for you (bad boys, bad boys)?  Peace and love for all? We love everyone.   They’ll cut your head off and walk on.  You should be honoring the brave men & women that fly these “killing machines” so you can sit up where ever you do and spout off your liberal dribble.

It’s a shame that Kalifornia has fallen so far from what it used to be.  There are still tons of good folks there.  Folks that appreciate America as it should be and once was.  How jackasses like this ass hat get elected are beyond me.  I guess that is what kicked off the original blog.

I will always love visiting Kalifornia.  Living there again, not in the cards with folks like this in government.

Wake up people.  Your country is slipping away. Where have we gone?

Hello Detroit

Hello Detroit!

You know, I travel quite a bit.  And of course the people I work with or meet always ask where I’m from.  Answer: Detroit (No, it’s not Deeee-troyt.   It’s “Deh-troyt”).    And the range of responses is shall we say, interesting.  From Oh, OK, to Oh tough guy, gangster, or if I already have a good relationship with that person, I can reply “yeah, don’t fuck with me!”

Detroit is one of those funny places that I don’t think the rest of the country “gets”.  Our heritage is rich.  Our reputation sucks.  We burn cars when our sports teams win championships.   Halloween used to be a license to set fire to any structure standing.  We don’t help ourselves. Honestly IMHO, if you’re not from here, there is no good reason to move here.  If you’re from here, your loyalty is true.  You have something in your heart.

But the bottom line is Detroit sucks.  One of the highest crime rates in the nation.  Unemployment is out of control.  Welfare, step right up!  While other rustbelt cities revitalize, we kind of just hang around.

Our people are good, hardworking, Americans.  We were the arsenal of democracy during WWII.  We put the country in wheels, thank you very much.  Gateway to Canada for the underground railroad for slaves that wanted to escape before emancipation. Yeah, we’re tough.

So, why the speech?  Coming home today, at baggage claim if you are flying into our not so fair city, you are greeted with this mural.  A testament to what essentially has taken us down.

Detroit

A testament to the leaders of the city?  Corrupt liberal Democrat politicians and corrupt union leaders?  Coleman Young, really? Are you actually saying this is your tribute?  No wonder we’re in the shit.  The only person on that mural that deserves tribute is Rosa Parks.  And she wasn’t even born here.

So, let’s keep kidding ourselves. Detroit will never come back.  We’ll hang around.  But as long as we continue to follow the lead of the mural, we might as well add Kwame’s picture.

Enjoy Sammy’s tribute to a corrupt city… my hometown…

What Started This?

Well, I just liked the term “Miscreant”.  Look it up.

So, the story of how this came to be.  I was visiting good friends.  One night, my good buddy and I decided to solve the world’s problems (helped along with copious amounts of vodka).  So around 2 AM (yes, 2 AM…), his wife woke up, found us and commenced to scold us “Miscreants” and we should get to bed so we’re not useless for the plan for the next day. Thoroughly  chastised, we obeyed, LOL!  But, the monikor has stuck, I love it and I’m now embracing being a miscreant.

I’m not sure what the content of my posts on this blog will be, but I think I will try to keep it sort of humorous and probably slightly irreverent in keeping with the theme of the name, while opining on whats going on.  My blogs are not how to, but what’s happening around us.

The Miscreant

The Obvious

“Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.”

P. J. O’Rourke

So, why in the world would so many want to follow this path.  Have to wonder.  Do people think/trust that government really has your best interests at heart, or is the answer to your woes?   If you do, then you will be sadly disappointed.  We’ve had almost eight years of supposed hope and change, but if you listen to the hope and change crowd, things are a disaster.  How has that been working out for ya hoper and changers?   You’ve been sold a bill of goods by POTUS and now being sold more by grandpa and the felonious Sec State as they try to sell more socialist/progressive kool aid.  Just a little more power.  Grandpa want a little more “money”.  Are you drinking?  If so, shame on you.
